Balance Your Heart Chakra
28 Days of Witchy Self-Care – Day 18
If you don’t already know, chakras are energy centers in the body where our spirit bodies and physical bodies meet. There are seven of them – root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and the crown. They are believed to be swirling centers of energy that control the flow of energy between the physical and spiritual.
Today, I want to focus on the heart chakra because it controls the unconditional love we have for ourselves and others. When the heart chakra is out of balance, we may experience low self-worth and jealousy, or we may be oversensitive to the feelings of others. Balancing your heart chakra will help to restore feelings of love, compassion and acceptance.
The heart chakra is located in the center of the chest and is represented by the colors pink or green. It is also known as anahata, which in Sanskrit means “unstuck” or “unhurt”.
Here are some simple ways to connect with and balance your heart chakra:
- Use pink and green crystals like rose quartz, rhodonite, jade and malachite. Carry them with you or hold them close to your heart to feel their energies.
- Diffuse scents like rose, lavender, jasmine or bergamot, also associated with the heart chakra.
- Practice self-love affirmations – I am love, I accept myself, I am worthy of love.
- Try yoga. There are many poses that open the heart chakra.
- Listen to self-love meditations. Hold a rose quartz while you do.
- The heart chakra is associated with the element of air, so you could light incense, go outside and feel the breeze, or do breathing exercises.
- Drink jasmine tea, Earl Grey tea (bergamot), rose tea or lavender tea to ingest the energies of those herbs.
- Use the colors of pink and green, such as pink or green candles or visualizing a pink or green glow coming out from your heart center and surrounding your body in a feeling of love and acceptance.
